Road To Manhunt 2014 1st Post! (Introduction)

Hi there lovely people out there!!!

This will be the 1st post of this blog. Well, the reason why this blog is being created, is because I thought it would be interesting to bring you people on road with me throughout this journey that I'm going through being a Finalist of Manhunt 2014. Many a times supporters, friends or anyone out there would only see certain event that was being organised and the main event which for this case would be the FINALS! (Can't wait for it!!!) But, what they don't see is how these guys do and go through behind the scenes. How hard they train and what diet they go through. For people who wants to meet your fitness goal but do not know how, you can also try out what I will post up in my future blog post. I will be vlog-ing, creating post on how to cook the food I prepare for myself to lean down or bulk and some exercises I do in the gym which I think is pretty much effective for the targeted muscle group. I'll bring you behind the scenes of this journey of mine and let you understand what we contestants go through. It would be a fun adventure! From this blog you can also get to basically know me better as a finalist of Manhunt 2014. So by starting, I will give a little introduction of myself.

BIO:

My name is Nicholas Jacob Chong as you people know by now. I'm 25 this year and I am a Personal Trainer in Celebrity Fitness @ Downtown East. Also I am a part-time student towards achieving my Bachelor in Exercise & Sports Science under Edith Cowan University. I started canoeing during my poly days in Republic Polytechnic and I went on with that sport for about 6 years. Lots of love and dedication for it. Then came Edward who saw potential in me and approached me to join Manhunt! I had a WAR in my head if I should carry on canoeing because if I would want to concentrate on building up my body for physique, I want to give my all and do it right. Now, as we all know, canoeing is much of a cardio sport. I can't be doing that and building up muscles when I keep burning it. Thus, I decided to hang my paddle after 6 years and go for it. If I don't explore now then when? Life is nothing without any risk and adventure isn't it? I started building up and being a 'gym rat' for 4 months and going. I used to be so small during my canoeing days (well, not that i'm huge now). But in 4 months I've gain a good 7kg of lean muscle mass. I have never turned around regretting hanging up my paddle. I'm actually loving it.

I pretty much train 6 days a week focusing on different muscle group each day. Be it the process was bitter or sweet, you will never get such experience without it. You will never know how a body builder would feel (not that I'm one). But I really learnt a lot since then. It's a fruitful one. Well, this pretty much would sums up why I ended up here. Each day I appreciate this opportunity given. Sometimes, you just wanna give up and let it all go but think of why you actually started.

APPRECIATION:

I would love to thank Beam Artist, Samuel for giving me this opportunity choosing me as 1 of the 16  Finalist in Manhunt 2014. Edward who found me. My supporters and many more to come. My family and friends. My Spartan Boys and Lady! Last but not least, the 3 SPECIAL (you know who the 3 of you are) people who I met. And out of the 3 that one special lady. She gave me the biggest support I could ever get and ask for. I truly appreciate all! Sincerely from the bottom of my HEART!

More post will be coming up soon so STAY TUNE!!!

Signing out,
Nicholas Jacob Chong
